Ludwig Quidde-Award
The Ludwig Quidde Foundation in administration of the German Foundation of Peace Research awards the
Ludwig Quidde - Award
every second year. According to §1 (2) of the foundations’ statute it is endowed with 5,000 Euro. The first public awarding ceremony will take place in Osnabrueck, City of Westphalian Peace, in the course of 2012.
The Ludwig Quidde – Award is an academic prize granted for scholarly pieces on the life or the lifework of the Nobel Peace Prize Laureate or outstanding research in the field of peace and conflict studies linked to Quiddes’ work and legacy.
For the nomination process national and international proposals can be submitted.
A jury consisting of scholars from different academic disciplines finally decides on the awarding.
The foundation appointed the following scholars to members of the jury for the Ludwig Quidde - Award 2012:
- Prof. em. Dr. Jost Dülffer (chairman)
- Prof. Dr. Tanja Brühl
- Prof. Dr. Michael Brzoska
- Prof. Dr. Heike Krieger
In 2012 the prize is awarded to Prof. Dr. Dr. h.c. Christian Tomuschat, Humboldt Universität zu Berlin
