The Ludwig Quidde Foundation in administration of the German Foundation of Peace Research awards every second year the
Ludwig Quidde - Award
According to §1 (2) of the foundation's statute it is endowed with 5,000 Euro.
The Ludwig Quidde – Award is an academic prize granted for scholarly pieces on the life or the lifework of the Nobel Peace Prize Laureate or outstanding research in the field of peace and conflict studies linked to Quidde’s work and legacy.
For the nomination process national and international proposals can be submitted.
An academic jury consisting of four scholars from different academic disciplines finally decides on the awarding.
The Ludwig Quidde-Award was awarded for the first time in 2012. The jury chose the international renowned expert on international law Prof. Dr. Dr. h.c. Christian Tomuschat as first laureate.
Now, the foundation is announcing the Ludwig Quidde-Award for the second time. For this purpose, the following scholars are appointed as members of the jury:
- Prof. em. Dr. Jost Dülffer (chairman)
- Dr. Cornelia Ulbert
- Prof. Dr. Michael Brzoska
- Prof. Dr. Heike Krieger
