In 2012 the Ludwig Quidde Foundation supported the International Symposium titled „Musik bezieht Stellung. Funktionalisierung der Musik im Ersten Weltkrieg” (Military Takes Position. The Functionalisation of Musik during World War I). The Symposium focused on a topic that had been widely neglected by research on the First World War.
