Ludwig Quidde Award 2017
The Ludwig Quidde-Foundation in administration of the German Foundation for Peace Research calls for nominations for the
Ludwig Quidde-Award
that is announced for the third time. The award commemorates the lifework of Ludwig Quidde, the German Nobel Peace Prize Laureate of 1927. It is endowed with 5,000 Euro.
The award honors outstanding achievements in peace research, i.e. a scientific life’s work, or a pioneering research program or approach. It is closely connected to the life and legacy of Ludwig Quidde which is why nominations can be submitted for achievements in the following fields:
- Life and legacy of Ludwig Quidde
- International organization of peace
- International law
- Historical peace research
- Peace movement and pacifism
- Mediation and peaceful conflict resolution.
National and international nominations can be submitted in German or English. Self-nominations are not permitted.
A scientific jury with scholars from different academic disciplines decides on the awarding of the Ludwig Quidde-Award. There is no right of appeal.
Deadline for submission of nominations is the 1st April 2017.
